Liesel was born in South Africa and trained in Germany, the United States, and Canada, earning her Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Toronto. She has performed across North America and Europe, including work with the Central City Opera Company, the Fort Collins Symphony, and the National Academy Orchestra. Today, she performs with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, London Symphonia, and regularly appears with the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra and the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony.

During this "Meet a Musician" session, Liesel will share how she discovered the flute, what inspires her, and the stories behind some of her favourite pieces. It’s a relaxed, family-friendly chance to enjoy live holiday music up close and hear directly from a professional musician.
