The holiday season is officially here — and what better way to kick it off than a visit from Santa at the Market? On Saturday, December 6th, Santa Claus is coming to the Hamilton Farmers’ Market. Come for a day of festive fun, photos, and holiday cheer. Whether you’re bringing the kids for their annual photo, picking up gifts for loved ones, stocking up on groceries for a festive dinner or just soaking in the spirit of the season, this is a day you won’t want to miss.

Santa will be posing for photos and strolling through the Market, spreading joy to shoppers and vendors alike. You’ll spot him visiting stalls, chatting with families, and maybe even sneaking a few treats along the way. Be sure to bring your phone or camera — visitors are welcome to take their own photos. It’s the perfect opportunity to capture a holiday memory in one of Hamilton’s most iconic downtown spaces.

Gingerbread Decorating:

Adding even more holiday fun, the Market will also host free Gingerbread Decorating with Chaton from 12:30–2:30 PM on the same day. This drop-in activity is a great way for families to get creative together and take home a festive masterpiece. Supplies are limited, and it’s one house per family — so come early to join in. Parental supervision is required during the activity.

Come enjoy the aroma of baked goods, the sparkle of seasonal décor, and the buzz of holiday shoppers. We offer a cozy indoor escape from the winter chill — all while supporting more than 50 independent local vendors.

You’ll find everything you need to get into the holiday spirit. Fresh ingredients for your festive meals, artisan gifts, international foods, and beautifully crafted handmade items. Many visitors make it a tradition. Spend the morning shopping, grabbing a bite to eat, and taking a family photo with Santa before heading out to enjoy the rest of downtown’s holiday festivities.

Best of all, Santa’s visit is completely free — no tickets, no registration, just show up and enjoy. Parking is easy too, with one hour of free parking at the 28 York Blvd Parkade. (Remember to enter your license plate into the red machine).
