Request for Expressions of Interest: York Blvd Opportunity

The Board of Directors of the Hamilton Farmers’ Market Corporation is inviting proposals for the development of the available space on the York Boulevard level of the Hamilton Farmers’ Market. The space, known as Stall #58, consists of approximately 1263 square feet, excluding 2 public washrooms, the entrance corridor from the HPL and the front entrance at the corner of York Blvd & McNab St.

Unique features of the York Boulevard space include a dedicated seating area, four large 10’ glass sliding doors that allow direct public access from street level and hold the potential of spilling out onto the boulevard. Due to the nature of the location future tenants have the luxury of establishing hours of operation outside the normal boundaries of the Market hours thereby offering the opportunity of creating your own destination!

• Provide a detailed sketch of how your business would appear within the space including but not limited to equipment layout (with amps), counters, signage, sinks, etc
• Planned operating schedule with a staffing model

• Stall 2: 11.42’ x 15.7’ (180 Sq. Ft).

Both stalls include a deep double sink, hand wash sink. Stalls are located in the Lower West Level of the Market.

General Market Information: 

The Hamilton Farmers’ Market is operated by the Hamilton Farmers’ Market Corporation and the City of Hamilton in a year-round indoor 55,000 square foot facility centrally located in downtown core adjacent the Hamilton Central Public Library. The Market is open four days per week: Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays 8 am to 6 pm and on Saturdays, 7 am – 5 pm. The Market has operated continuously in Hamilton since 1837 and has been in its current location since 1980. Market vendors have access to a loading dock for short term use to facilitate the transfer of goods.

The Market currently has 56 vendors on its roster and in addition, offers daily Market cart rentals. The Market provides one-hour complimentary parking for its customers at the York Boulevard Parkade located directly across from the Market.
