Looking for family-friendly Halloween activities in Hamilton? Head to the Hamilton Farmers’ Market for a month of Halloween fun, including a pumpkin scavenger hunt, a free pumpkin carving workshop and a Halloween Costume Parade with our neighbours at Hamilton Central Public Library.

Whether you’re picking up a pumpkin, looking for a fun activity with the kids or getting into the Halloween spirit, there’s something happening throughout October.

Hunt for Hidden Pumpkins All October Long

The Halloween fun starts October 1st with our Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt.

Pick up a scavenger sheet at the Market Office starting October 1st and start searching throughout the Market for hidden carved pumpkins. Each pumpkin features a vendor category logo, so you’ll need to explore the Market to find them all.

Once you’ve completed your scavenger sheet, return it to the Market Office to be entered into a draw for prizes.

The scavenger hunt is free and open to all ages, making it an easy Halloween activity for families, kids and anyone who enjoys a little friendly competition.

While you’re hunting, take the opportunity to explore the Market’s 45+ regular vendors and see what’s fresh, local and in season.

Free Pumpkin Carving Workshop with Zac’s Jacks

On Saturday, October 31 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Zac’s Jacks is BACK at the Hamilton Farmers’ Market for a free pumpkin carving workshop.

Bring your own pumpkin, or choose one from the pumpkins available for purchase from Market vendors.

We’ll have the tools you need to carve your pumpkin, while Zac’s Jacks will be on hand to share carving tips, tricks and techniques to help you create something great.

And when the carving is done, you don’t have to worry about what happens to your pumpkin scraps. We’ll take care of the composting.

Halloween Costume Parade with Hamilton Central Public Library

The Halloween fun continues on Saturday, October 31 starting at 10:30 a.m. -2:00 p.m. as we team up with our neighbours at Hamilton Central Public Library for a Halloween Costume Parade.

Bring the whole family, put on your favourite costume and join us as we celebrate the spooky season together.

There will also be trick-or-treating with participating Market vendors, so kids can explore the Market while collecting some Halloween treats along the way.

It’s a great way to spend Halloween morning and afternoon with the family while supporting local businesses.
