Meet the French Horn!
More than just everybody’s favourite instrument to feature on a holiday card, the French Horn is one of the most versatile instruments in the entire orchestra. Learn more about how players of this unique brass instrument make sound, and hear Jessie Brooks, Principal French Horn with the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, in action as she plays some recognizable tunes. Don’t miss her on Friday, June 5, at 12PM on the lower level at the bottom of the ramp. Families, students, and music lovers of all ages are invited to experience live music up close while learning about different instruments in a fun and welcoming environment.
During Hamilton Philharmonic PA Day, visitors will have the opportunity to meet professional musicians. They will get to hear live demonstrations and explore the sounds behind a variety of instruments. It’s a perfect family-friendly activity for children curious about music and creativity during the school break.
