We recognize two former Canadian Military members within our Hamilton Farmers’ Market Vendor Community;
JAMES FROM COUNTRY GREEN GARDENS
From 1974 to 1984, James served in the Canadian Military as a Military Police Officer. He said he was proud to serve his country during his time in the Military. He started in the cadet program right here in Hamilton, Ontario at the Army Cadets 2865 Hamilton Artillery Battery when he was only 11 years old.
JASON FROM SAM’S CHEESE AND MEATS
From 2002 to 2011, Jason served as a Boatswain in the Canadian Military. Boatswains are the seamanship specialists of the Armed Forces. They are responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of the ship’s rigging, shipboard cargo handling equipment, boats and small craft. Jason always said he had a calling to serve and was eager to help his Country. He enjoyed his 9 years serving in the Military and had to opportunity to go to many stations in Canada including Victoria, BC, Halifax, and Québec.

If you visit the Market on Remembrance Day, at 11am we will be holding a two-minute moment of silence to remember those who have lost their life.
The York Blvd. front entrance to the Market has poppies available for a donation at the Meridian Kiosk. All proceed go to the Royal Canadian Legion.
