SAU Bake is a Brazilian bakery on the lower level of the Hamilton Farmers’ Market that specializes in vegan snacks and treats. Founded by Matheus, a chef and culinary arts graduate from Uniceub University in Brasília, the bakery brings the bold, comforting flavours of Brazil to the plant-based community. With roots in a 2016 business in Brazil and a passion for creating joy through food, Matheus now shares this love with Hamilton, offering a taste of Brazil that’s inclusive, delicious, and made for everyone.
“I started SAU Bake because I believe food should bring people together—no matter their background or dietary choices. As a Black Brazilian and LGBTQI2+ entrepreneur, my identity shapes both my mission and my menu. This business is about more than snacks; it’s about honouring heritage, building community, and creating space for others like me.
